About Prasovi's website check

Prasovi's website check is a free check that anyone can run on a domain from prasovi.com/website-check. It looks at the domain's HTTPS setup, security headers and email records.

What it requests

• The home page, over HTTP and HTTPS, following at most 3 redirects on the same site.
• TLS handshakes with the server, to see whether it still accepts the old TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1.
• Public DNS lookups of the domain's SPF and DMARC records.
• Only for a domain whose owner has verified it: a fixed list of well-known file paths, such as /.git/HEAD and /.env, to see whether they're publicly readable.

Limits

• It reads at most 64 KB of the home page and 2 KB of any other file.
• A whole check stops after 12 seconds.
• The same domain is checked at most once every 10 minutes.
• It never stores the content it reads.
